Derick Jones

Derick Jones is a Business Services representative with and the state of Nevada’s JobConnect and EmployNV.gov.

Derick has over decade of experience in workforce services and business engagement. Prior to his tenure with the state of Nevada, he worked in special education for CCSD. He also has a background in mental health services.

Originally a native of Washington state, he has been a resident of Nevada since 2003. He attended UNLV earning his Bachelors in Psychology.

Amanda Goldfarb

Amanda Goldfarb has a more than a decade of professional experience working in human resources, as well as various roles within the public workforce development system helping connect employers with qualified job candidates.

Raised in Boston, Amanda earned her Urban Studies degree at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV). She has worked for several nonprofits and most recently served as a job developer for Workforce Connection’s One-Stop Career Centers. Amanda is fluent in Spanish.

Alexandria Hughes

Alexandria is a Las Vegas native who graduated with honors from the Business Administration program at Nevada State College. While earning her degree, Alexandria was a member of the Society of the Advancement of Management (SAM) and was chosen to represent Nevada State College at the SAM International Conference.

Alexandria has more than ten years of customer service. She worked at her uncle’s local sandwich shop as a teenager and learned from the ground up how small business operates. She later interned at the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) where she assisted with marketing, business and economic development initiatives.

Janae Cooley

Prior to joining the Employ NV Business Hub team, Janae held various management and support roles in the client relations and higher education industries. With an insightful, collaborative approach she is known for bringing harmony, efficiency and productivity to organizations.

Born in San Diego, Janae has lived in Las Vegas for sixteen years and has a vested interest in seeing the Southern Nevada economy flourish. She combines her knowledge of the local market with a background in industrial and organizational psychology to build effective partnerships that help businesses navigate their workforce challenges.

Janae holds a BA in Psychology, with a minor in Business Management from UNLV.

Elizabeth McDaniels

Elizabeth has an extensive background in workforce development, marketing, and helping small businesses thrive.

During the great recession, Elizabeth lead mission services for Goodwill of Southern Nevada. Under her leadership, the agency fostered partnerships with the business community that lead to record-breaking years for job placements, despite an economic turndown.

Elizabeth has also held positions with the Modesto Junior College Workforce Training Center in California and a Las Vegas-based communications agency, allowing her to mix her passion for workforce development with marketing.

Elizabeth legally migrated to the United States with her family when she was a small child and often traveled from state to state following the crop seasons. Much of Elizabeth’s career has been in workforce development, helping people overcome barriers similar to those she overcame herself.

Mack Wiggins is a Business Service Consultant at the Vegas Chamber Employ NV Business Hub.

Mack has worked in the nonprofit and public sector for more than a decade. Prior to his position at the Employ NV Business Hub, Mack specialized in helping match job seekers to employment opportunities through various roles at Southern Nevada's One-Stop Career Centers.

Born and raised in Michigan, Mack earned his bachelors in business administration from Northwood University. He moved to Las Vegas in 2002.

Jan Hawkins

Jan is a Business Services Representative at the Employ NV Business Hub at the Vegas Chamber. She has an extensive background in workforce development, human resources and local recruiting. Jan has worked for the State of Nevada’s Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) for more than a decade and developed a “Job Readiness Skills” workshop for job seekers on welfare that is currently used statewide.

Jan's focus now is helping employers. She uses her knowledge of the public workforce development system, as well as her experience as a local restaurant owner, to connect local businesses to resources that can help them recover and grow.

Jan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in health and human services from California State University-San Bernardino and has also taught Jazzercise classes.

Julie Ann Tonetta

Julie Ann has over a decade of management experience and three years of dedication in workforce development.

She is currently a Lead Business Services Consultant at the Employ NV Business Hub at the Sahara West Library and has a history of creating positive community partnerships and collaborative relationships.

Julie Ann has developed retention processes to ensure job seekers maintain sustainable employment, and helps connects employers to resources, services and opportunities.

She has a dual bachelor’s degree in Human Services and Management and has owned a small catering company.

LaFawn Harris

As a Business Services Consultant at the Sahara West Library Employ NV Business Hub, LaFawn Harrison helps connect local employers to qualified job seekers. LaFawn has held operations-based leadership roles with multiple companies where she has managed $200 million budgets and hundreds of employees.

Recently, LaFawn’s focus has been in the nonprofit and workforce development sector. In those roles, she has been able to use her management background to help others succeed, both in business and life.

LaFawn was born and raised in West Virginia and holds an AA Business Administration degree from National Business College in Virginia. She lives by the motto “treat others the way you want to be treated.”
